Here's an example. Last month, Phil was observing a project about patterns in a first grade classroom. Perhaps best known as the drummer for Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Phil uses patterns all the time. In no time, he put together a drum kit using a water bottle, tupperware and a dry erase marker and made the connection between ABABAB patterns and songs that are familiar to kids from the radio. He led the class in some pretty awesome explorations of percussion and patterns using their bodies, the desks and the floor. Phil has traveled the world with SSLYBY, and they've just completed a new album. He's led songwriting camps at the Summit school and is excited to collaborate with kids and teachers in the classroom.
